IS SPIRITUAL FORMATION A PRIORITY IN YOUR CONGREGATION AND COMMUNITY?

Transform Your Leadership. Transform Your Congregation and Community.

*CEUs Also Available*

It’s challenging for leaders to infuse their ministry settings with transformational practices necessary to bring about heart and soul change in healthy, life-giving ways. In this seven-session, interactive symposium, we invite leaders and teams to explore readily applicable pathways that will aid you in facilitating biblical, contemplative and Trinitarian priorities with those God has called you to serve.

The symposium will offer interactive instruction and collegial dialogue around the process of enfolding and infusing spiritual formation into the life of your church and community. A creative mini soul care retreat and optional spiritual direction will also be offered. Coffee and snacks will be provided each morning, as well as lunch and dinner provided on days one and two. We will conclude prior to lunchtime on Oct 18. Invite your team to join you for this unique spiritual formation and leadership development experience!

I think one of the most significant benefits for me was the fellowship I had with those at the event. We bonded in a pretty special way, all very different places in life, but our sharing and ministering to one another was totally unexpected and a huge blessing.

The most significant benefit for me personally was the shared joy of sitting at the feet of Jesus in community and experiencing the fullness of his Spirit communally.  I have never experienced such a sweet freedom of oneness in Christ in the midst of a congregation and I have tasted and seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!
 —  2018 Symposium Participant,
Shelly Mallon, Indianapolis, IN
The repeated reminders that spiritual formation is capitalized and impossible apart from the indwelling and transformative work of the Holy Spirit have been very meaningful to me. In addition to the Enneagram workshop, both Karen and I were especially blessed by Howard Baker.

EXPLORE YOUR ENNEAGRAM TYPE

Enneagram (pronounced "Any-a-gram") means "nine points" in Greek, as it is made up of nine unique personality profiles. The Enneagram is an ancient tool that identifies one's primary personality style with its particular gifts and challenges to Christian maturity. It distinguishes the traits of one's true self (who we are created to be as bearers of Christ's image) from one's false self (who we want to be or who we want others to think we are) and it describes the primary way one engages relationships. It offers ways one can cultivate healthy relational interaction with God and with others. You may be familiar with other diagnostic tools such as MMPI, Meyers/Briggs, DISC, etc. The Enneagram is quite distinct in its approach as it illuminates not only the gift (virtue) of each type but the dark underbelly (vice) that accompanies that particular gift. It is a great help in counseling, spiritual direction and organizational/team development.

If you are brand new to the Enneagram, this helpful article by Alice Fryling provides a clear and biblically grounded overview. Originally published by Conversations Journal. In 2017, Fryling's new book on the Enneagram was released: Mirror for the Soul: A Christian Guide to the Enneagram.
