Our History

The past nine seasons the Northern Colorado Eagles have made huge strides as a Junior ‘A’ franchise.

During the 2020-2021 season, the Eagles found success in the United States Premier Hockey League finishing first in the Mountain Division after regular season play. During the playoffs, the Eagles lost in the Mountain Division Semi-Final. The Eagles advanced 9 players to NCAA, CIS,U-Sports; the second biggest group in franchise history. 

In the 2021-2022 season, the Eagles advanced to the Mountain Division Finals, two wins away from a berth at Nationals. The Eagles advanced 7 players to NCAA and Canadian college programs, continuing the tradition of consistently moving players on the next level.

The upcoming 2022-2023 upcoming season will be the organization's 10th anniversary.

The Northern Colorado Eagles finished 3rd in the Mountain Division in their first two seasons, being two points shy of 2nd place and three from 1st place both seasons. The Eagles won the Mountain Division title and were Thorne Cup finalists in their 15-16 and 16-17 seasons and went to the Mountain Division Semifinals in their 17-18 season and Midwest Division Semifinals 18-19 Season. 

The Eagles finished in second place in the Midwest Division, finishing with 102 points in the 2019-20 season. The Eagles finished the regular season with a winning record of 34-13-4 overall. The Northern Colorado Eagles have qualified for the playoffs in all eight seasons and averaged 30 plus win seasons since the team has been in existence. The Eagles made it to the Division final in playoffs in their first two seasons and were in the Thorne Cup finals during both the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 seasons. The Northern Colorado Eagles have helped advance over 100 players to the collegiate and professional levels.

In 2020-2021, the Northern Colorado Eagles announced the organization will be making the transition to the United States Premier Hockey League. (USPHL) This decision was made to better align organizational goals and fundamentals with player development and advancement potential. The Northern Colorado Eagles felt this move will offer increased exposure, and create an enhanced environment for our players to achieve their personal goals.
